¡Hola a todos! Welcome to our weekly classroom newsletter. Here you can find information about what's happening in salón 1, helpful reminders and some pretty awesome fotos of our classroom community. We started our year off strong with a four day week jam packed with learning and fun. Following the Responsive Classroom approach, we are slowly and deliberately introducing classroom procedures and routines to establish a strong foundation for learning in our classroom. Although Sra. Ramirez and I are using our "English necklaces" to introduce new routines, students have already been doing lots of counting, chanting, singing and listening in Spanish! This week we look forward to our first All School Meeting on Thursday, first outdoor Science lesson and learning new games during our daily Morning Meeting. Reminders: 1. It is very important that you review your child's blue folder/carpeta azul every day and clear out the section "guardar en casa/keep at home" so that things stay nice and organized. Thank you for signing and returning all important documents promptly! 2. This Thursday, September 12th, you are all encouraged to attend Curriculum Night from 7-7:30 in our classroom. I will be giving a short presentation with some important information about the school year and will be available for questions. Looking forward to seeing you then! 3. This year, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, we will share our special area class with Ms. DiStefano's Kindergarten class, so that our students have an opportunity to meet and mingle with new friends. Please see "clases especiales" schedule below to find out your child's schedule. Everyone will have tecnología/skills lab on Monday, gimnasia/gym on Tuesday and música/music on Fridays. This week's slideshow features lots of playground fun, exploring math manipulatives, and our first class birthdays!
