¡Hola a todos! I hope that everyone is enjoying the long weekend with their family and friends!! I have continued to enjoy "parent/teacher conference season"! Looking forward to seeing many of you this week as well. On Friday your child brought home a letter and materials for a special project for El Día de Los Muertos. We have gone over a few examples of how to "disguise" the calaveras in class including mujer maravilla (wonder woman) and have also included a picture for your reference above. Most of the explanation was included in the letter, but please let us know if you have any questions about this! We will also be modeling the in-class presentations before the projects are due on Monday, October 28th. Last week we enjoyed a special visit from Laurel Pirelli, Loker's guidance counselor. She will be visiting our classroom once a month for a brief social-emotional lesson. This month her focus was on identifying the size of the problem and matching our reaction appropriately. For example, breaking a crayon is a small problem and only requires a small reaction. This is something we will work on and review all year in kinder! This week we look forward to a visit from Wayland's bomberos (firefighters) coming to teach us about Fire Prevention Week on Friday! Check out this week's slideshow to see lots of fun and learning at morning meeting, outside in the "Gaga Ball" pit and cheering and chanting our way through the Estrellita curriculum.
